Project Engineer

Project Engineer

About The Role:

Project Engineers work closely with Project Managers to support them in every aspect of a job from communicating with the field supervisors to managing schedules with the project team.

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the day to day tasks associated with project work. You will assist the Project Manager in developing design documents, client meetings, RFI’s, procurement, and site visits.

Compensation and Company Benefits:

  • Compensation for this role is $70,000 - $110,000 (negotiable)
  • Full time salaried/exempt position

Responsabilities:

  • Use contract documents to develop 3D BIM model with Tekla Structures.
  • Create, modify, and revise submittal, fabrication, and erection drawings.
  • Collect field measurements and attend field meetings.
  • Purchase material for fabrication and generate cutlists and shipping load lists.
  • Daily management of projects, documentation (RFI’s, Submittals, Transmittals), coordination with other subcontractors, clients, owners, suppliers and internal employees.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum two (2) years experience working on structural and miscellaneous steel projects.
  • BIM/CAD software experience (Tekla Structures, Revit, Solid Works, Rhino, etc.) preferred.
  • Data management software experience (Tekla EPM, Fabsuite, Powerfab) preferred.
  • Capability to read and understand construction drawings.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or other applicable degree/experience. Certifications are a plus!

Project Manager

Project Manager

About The Role:

Project Managers monitor and control every aspect of a job from communicating with the field supervisors, managing Clients and schedules, to managing the project team.

As a Project manager at Summit Steel Works, you will be responsible for the execution of a project from design to erection. You will be responsible for the timely execution of the contracted work.

Project Managers report directly to the Engineering Manager.

Compensation and Company Benefits:

  • Compensation for this role is $90,000 - $130,000 (negotiable)
  • Full time salaried/exempt position
  • Health Insurance (100% covered for employee)
  • 401K plan
  • Generous PTO and holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Daily management of projects, documentation (RFI’s, Submittals, Transmittals), coordination with other subcontractors, Clients, Owners, Suppliers and internal employees.
  • Develop and maintain overall schedule for projects.
  • Take ownership for every aspect of a project.
  • Manage project team by providing direction, strategy, and leadership.
  • Review contracts, ensure compliance with all contract terms.
  • Complete all job close-out procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience working on structural and miscellaneous steel projects.
  • Excellent software capabilities with Excel, Project, Bluebeam Revu, and BIM software, or relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience reading and understanding construction drawings, codes (AISC, AWS, RCSC, etc.)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or other applicable degree/experience. Certifications are a plus!
